Unitree As2-W Wheeled Quadruped Robot
The Unitree As2-W is a compact wheeled quadruped robot designed to combine the speed and efficiency of wheels with the terrain adaptability of legged robotics. Built for outdoor exploration, inspection, security, education, and advanced robotics development, the As2-W can roll efficiently across flat surfaces while using its legs to handle stairs, gravel, slopes, and uneven ground.
Unitree positions the As2-W as a powerful but compact platform. Its industrial-grade 95 N.m joint modules, 7-inch wheels, 648 Wh long-range battery, and IP54 dust and water resistance make it suitable for demanding field use where ordinary wheeled robots cannot travel reliably.
Mobility and Terrain Capability
The As2-W automatically adapts to mixed terrain by combining high-speed wheeled travel with legged obstacle negotiation. Unitree lists a maximum speed of over 6 m/s, slope capability of approximately 45 degrees, stair climbing capability of 30 cm, and maximum climb height of approximately 0.4 m to 0.8 m under laboratory conditions.
Performance and Endurance
The robot weighs approximately 25 kg with battery. It supports a static standing load of approximately 150 kg and continuous walking payload of approximately 16 kg. Battery life is listed at approximately 3 hours unloaded, with a no-load cruising range above 30 km, and more than 2 hours loaded operation depending on conditions.
Sensing, Compute, and Development
The As2-W includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, HD camera, ultra-wide-angle industrial-grade 64 to 128 line LiDAR, microphone, speaker, front light, GPS and 4G support where available, and an 8-core high-performance CPU. Unitree also describes support for 150 TOPS high-performance expansion modules and developer-friendly SDK and API access for embodied AI interaction and autonomous decision-making.
